New Presidential Traditions

50th Reunion Medallion Ceremony

Celebrating a Golden Anniversary

A new Dentistry tradition has been born with the first 50th Reunion Medallion Ceremony to take place on November 8 at the Reunion Welcome Dinner.

Designed and presided over by President Joel Seligman, the ceremony will honor classes from 1957 and before.
Alumni celebrating their 50th Reunion will be recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments and achievement of what our University most fundamentally values: An Educated Life.

At the culmination of the ceremony, President Seligman will confer upon each participant a commemorative medallion in tribute to the relationship each has had with Dentistry at the University of Rochester.

Installation Ceremony for the J. Daniel Subtelny Professorship

Dentistry at the University of Rochester will host an inaugural ceremony that will mark the installation of Stephanos Kyrkanides, DDS, MS, PhD, as the J. Daniel Subtelny Professor.

This professorship honors J. Daniel Subtelny, DDS, MS, Professor Emeritus and former chair of the Division of Orthodontics for 50 years. The professorship was funded through the support of our alumni and friends.

President Joel Seligman will preside over the ceremony, with G. Robert Witmer Jr., chairman of the University's Board of Trustees and Eastman Dental Center Foundation Board member, delivering the welcoming remarks.
