Here at the Wilmot Cancer Center Office of Development we take pride in organizing events to raise support and awareness for the cancer center and our community. Annual Events:
Hat Day
Sign up your school or business for the 3rd annual Hat Day celebration and support the Wilmot Cancer Center. For a small donation you can wear a hat to school or dress down at work to help support local cancer care and research. Last year several local schools throughout the 17 county regions participated and raised over $2,000. For more information contact Karen McIntyre at (585) 242-0725.
Ice Cream Bowl
The 4th annual “Ice Cream Bowl” was a major success in raising over $2,700 for patient care and cancer research at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center. A total of twenty two contestants of all ages competed for great prizes. Tony Greco was awarded an ice cream party for 100 people for raising the most moo-lah of over $950!! The “Jelly Belly girls” were awarded a behind the scenes tour of 13WHAM news with our guest emcee, Norma Holland, for raising the most moo-lah collectively of $570!
Discovery Ball
The 8th annual Discovery Ball was a huge success raising a net of $1.5 million for the Wilmot Cancer Center. On Saturday April 28 over 1,000 guests gathered at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center for dinner, dancing and to celebrate the recent discovery of the HPV vaccine. Save the date for the 9th Annual Discovery Ball to be held on Saturday May 10, 2008 in the new Wilmot Cancer Center!
