Julianne Gold-Brunson, M.A., joined the staff of the Deaf Wellness Center in 2005 as a counselor. Julianne is nearing completion of her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Her dissertation is on the topic of the efficacy of Behavioral Activiation Therapy for Depression with late-deafened individuals.

Julianne served as a doctoral intern in Clinical Psychology in the DWC's Program for Deaf Trainees in 2004 - 2005. She was selected from among all the doctoral interns in the URMC Department of Psychiatry's broader internship program to receive the 2005 Award for Excellence.

Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies in psychology, Julianne served for a number of years as the supervisor of Centers for Disease Control's National HIV/AIDS TTY/TDD hotline section. Earlier in her career, Julianne was an accomplished actress. She starred in the Emmy Award-winning "It's a Good Sign," guest starred in a number of television series, and was in the original Broadway cast of "Children of a Lesser God."
