URSMD Faculty Diversity Liaison Committee
The Faculty Diversity Liaison Committee was developed to enhance two-way communication between the Dean's Office and the Departments about the needs of our diverse faculty and trainees. The committee goals are:
- To provide a forum for consistent communication between the Office of the Associate VP and Senior Associate Dean for Inclusion and Culture Development and the individual departments in a consistent fashion.
- To communicate departmental efforts, questions, requests, etc. to the Associate VP and Senior Associate Dean for Inclusion and Culture Development and to the committee and to return information to the department leadership and department faculty and trainees.
- To provide input and feedback to the Associate VP and Senior Associate Dean for Inclusion and Culture Development regarding the needs of the department and to work with the Associate VP and Senior Associate Dean for Inclusion and Culture Development as needed to develop department specific initiatives.
University of Rochester Faculty Diversity Officers
Working closely with the University of Rochester Office for Faculty Development and Diversity, the Faculty Diversity Officers (FDO) collaborate with University leadership and faculty to develop strategies that foster the hiring and retention of underrepresented faculty. Among other things, the FDO is involved in the analysis of collected diversity data and helps create opportunities for conversation/dialogue to promote diversity. The group includes representatives from across the university.
