Program Details

The University of Rochester Medical Center is a large, tertiary referral center that treats a broad spectrum of cardiac disease. With a wide array of diagnostic imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MR, and coronary CT angiography, as well as a busy cath and EP lab that offers multiple modalities of treatment, and an an active heart failure/transplant team, patients come from the City of Rochester and throughout western New York and northern Pennsylvania for their care.

In your cardiovascular training, you will treat a considerable volume and substantial variety of cardiac pathology. Similarly, from a research standpoint, multiple opportunities exist for participation in a wide array of bench to clinical investigations. Research opportunities occur both on campus with clinical attendings and in our Heart Rhythm Research Center where the MADIT trials are headquartered. Alternatively, additional basic science research opportunities can be found at our Cardiovascular Research Institute off campus.

Despite the extensive patient exposure and facilities, our program is truly medium sized, with the benefits of a bustling large medical center balanced nicely by a close-knit, friendly environment small enough so that we know all of our colleagues well. Additionally, our faculty truly treat fellows as colleagues, not as subordinate trainees.
