What Sets Us Apart

Flexible Curriculum

There is flexibility in the program, and it is not uncommon for residents to change tracks during training as their learning objectives and career goals evolve.

Mentor Relationships

Our fellows most commonly reference the personal relationships and valuable mentoring they receive as one of the top reasons why they would recommend URMC.

Life of a Fellow

Our emphasis on work/life balance is an important reason fellows choose URMC. A focus on trainees well-being enables you to learn and thrive in Rochester.

What Our Fellows Say...

Sabina Khan

"Our Pediatric Emergency Department is a closely-knit group with an amazing team. We see a lot of sick children and a fair amount of trauma. The education here is phenomenal. As a PEM fellow at URMC, I can say that everyone here, the RNs, the attendings, the other fellows - they all work hard to make you into a better doctor, and they’re all passionate about providing the best care possible for the children of Rochester. I look forward to coming in to the pediatric ER for my shifts, even though sometimes they’re busy or emotionally stressful, I know the team has my back, we’ve got great people here."

Yulia Vabishchevi

"I initially did my Pediatric Residency at GCH and when I rotated in the Peds ED, I realized that despite being tired and exhausted from being in residency, I still looked forward to every ED shift because the people and staff are AWESOME. The staff in the Peds ED is cohesive, kind and supportive, everyone seems eager to help, and this easily lent itself to learning and growing as a critically-thinking, evidenced-based autonomous physician."
