Wilderness Medicine Interest Group
The Wilderness Medicine Interest Group is a student and resident interest group dedicated to the exploration of outdoors and wilderness with an emphasis in medicine and science. We seek knowledge through student meetings, lectures, social events, and outdoor excursions.
Rochester and its surrounding area in western New York offers tremendous opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast! The many forested areas, water falls, and lakes provide excellent hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, and endless road cycling. The winter months are equally active. Abundant waterfalls provide excellent ice climbing and the numerous wooded trails offer endless cross-country skiing. There are many downhill ski areas for alpine skiing and snow boarding within easy driving distance.
