Anjali Bose-Kolanu is a PGY1 in Adult Neurology. She attended Harvard College ('03) and then got a Masters in Medical Science and an MPH in Health Policy from Boston University ('06) before completing medical school at Boston University School of Medicine ('10-'11). During medical school, she took an extra year in order to spend some time in India at a medical college, going out to the villages and seeing how Western medicine is practiced in a developing Eastern nation. She was born in England, moved six times by the time she was five, grew up in Atlanta, and lived in Boston for over ten years before coming to Rochester this year. She enjoys reading, classical music concerts, and foosball, and hopes someday to have sufficient free time to take up horseback riding again.

Megan Bowers is a PGY1 resident in Adult Neurology. She obtained her MD/PhD from New York University School of Medicine after graduating with a BS in Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Diego. Outside of science and medicine, she spends her time traveling, hiking, and practicing yoga.

Roberto Gil is a PGY1 resident in Adult Neurology. He attended Rush University Medical College (’11) in his hometown of Chicago after completing undergraduate and graduate studies at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, earning a B.Sc. (’03) and M.Sc. (’06) both in Physiology. While at Rush University, he established and managed a specialty care clinic at the largest free clinic in the city of Chicago. He lives in the town of Irondequoit with his wife, Heather. In addition to interests in health policy, Roberto enjoys hanging out with fellow co-residents, biking, skiing, hiking, and a multitude of other pursuits afforded by the city of Rochester.

Anthony Noto is a PGY1 in Adult Neurology. He attended a combined BS/MD program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and majored in neuroscience and artificial intelligence. He grew up in Rochester and is excited to be back in his home town. He is primarily interested in the intersection of technology and neurology, specifically in the application of electronic medical record systems to the clinical environment. After residency he hopes to pursue a fellowship in neurocritical care. While not in the hospital he enjoys hiking, traveling, and watching movies.

Andrew “Trey” Smith is a PGY1 in Adult Neurology. He attended medical school at the Sanford School of Medicine of the University of South Dakota (’11) after graduating with a BA in Biochemistry from Kenyon College (’04). Before deciding to go to medical school he did post-baccalaureate research at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Wisconsin. He grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He lives in the city of Rochester with his wife, Emmie, and their black labrador, Ruby. He enjoys reading, cycling, hiking, canoeing, camping, and bread baking.

Trent Tollefson is a PGY-1 resident in Adult Neurology. He completed medical school and undergraduate training at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (MD ’11, BS in Neuroscience & Physiology ’07). He is interested in medical education. He grew up in the small town of Harmony, Minnesota. In his spare time, he enjoys music, following Green Bay Packers football and Minnesota Twins baseball, reading, and exploring the city of Rochester.
