Faculty & Research
PM&R residents have the opportunity to participate in structured, supervised research with PM&R faculty, as well as collaborate with faculty from other departments and institutions. In fact, it is a requirement for graduation from the PM&R residency program to successfully complete a final research or clinical case study report which is approved by the physician advisor, the Research Committee and the Department Chair. Each of our residents have completed research projects in various topics, including the effectiveness of different styles of didactic teaching, biphosphonate therapy for osteoporosis, and neurogenic cramp disorder misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia, to name a few. Most of our residents present their research at national PM&R meetings.
