Moonlighting is allowed but is contingent on multiple factors. Any moonlighting must meet the following criteria

  • Be approved in writing in advanced by the Department of Public Health Sciences and the residency director
  • Must not interfere with performance of the resident in residency activities
  • Must not cause the resident to violate ACGME, national or state work hour restrictions
  • Malpractice insurance must be arranged by resident or employer for any work outside of URMC
