Kash Desai - (PGY5)

KashKash Desai attended Washington University in St. Louis where he majored in Biochemistry & Anthropology. He continued his medical education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where he conducted and published research in risk prediction modeling, serum & plaque biomarkers, hindlimb ischemic recovery, and cerebrovascular disease progression through the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Student Research Fellowship. He also served as the course liaison for the Surgical Clerkship & Practice of Medicine courses and is interested in medical education and student support. He earned his M.D. and Masters in Population Health Science in 2019 before starting his residency in vascular surgery at the University of Rochester. In his spare time, Kash enjoys training for ultramarathons, cycling, and backpacking in national parks.

Rachad Wehbe (PGY4)

Rachad WehbeMohammad Rachad Wehbe was born and raised in the city of Saida, Lebanon. He completed a general surgery residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in 2017, and continued his surgical training with a two-year vascular surgery fellowship at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. Rachad was eager to pursue further training in the United States where he did additional vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center from 2020-2021, then later joined the integrated vascular surgery residency to become Board-eligible. Rachad enjoys spending quality time with his wife, their daughter, and their dog.

Leanne Grafmuller (PGY4)

LeanneLeanne Grafmuller was born and raised on Long Island, NY. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she studied bioengineering and Hispanic studies. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2009, she began her career as a chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, supporting the development of novel, small molecule drug therapies. After six years of life science research and industry experience, she matriculated at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse to pursue her true passion, medicine. In her free time, Leanne enjoys gardening, cooking, practicing Ashtanga yoga, traveling abroad, and Broadway musicals.

Vinny Locham (PGY4)

VinnyVinny Locham grew up in Canada and earned his Honors BS in Physiology from University of Toronto. He then moved to Bahrain where he completed his medical training from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Bahrain in 2015. After graduation, he worked as a research fellow in vascular surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, largely focusing on clinical outcomes involving AAA, TAAA, hemodialysis access, and carotid revascularization. Prior to starting his clinical training in vascular surgery at UR, Vinny also completed one-year surgical internship at University of California San Diego. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, and prefers outdoor activities

Ben Ford (PGY3)Ben Ford, MD

Ben Ford is a native of New York City. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a dual major in Biology and East Asian Studies. He attended the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University before matching to the University of Rochester for residency. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, reading, boxing, and birding.

Josh Geiger (Research)

Geiger JoshJosh Geiger attended the University of Rochester for college. He then spent two years conducting neurogenetic research at the National Institutes of Health before returning to Rochester for medical school. His research focuses on both outcomes after vascular procedures and the identification of novel vascular disease mechanisms by using -omic technologies. As a Western NY native, Josh enjoys watching the Buffalo Bills. He is an avid photographer who enjoys golfing, skiing, hiking, and traveling to national parks.

 

 

Irina Kanzafarova (PGY2)

Irina Kanzafarova (PGY1)Irina Kanzafarova received her medical degree from Russian National Research Medical University. During her medical school years, she presented her research on the treatment of peripheral and central venous diseases at conferences in the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Poland. Prior to starting her vascular surgery training, Dr. Kanzafarova completed a preliminary General Surgery year at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, growing flowers, and playing piano.

 

 

Mu’ath Adlouni (PGY1)Mu’ath Adlouni

Mu'ath Adlouni received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He then went on to receive both a Masters of Engineering and his medical degree by being a part of the inaugural class in the Engineering to Medicine (EnMed) program at the Texas A&M College of Medicine. He's a proud Palestinian-American, speaks Arabic, and loves to be an active member in his local Muslim community. In his free time, Mu'ath loves tinkering with new coffee brewing methods or going to the gym and getting a few kicks in on the wavemaster.


Tabea Hoffstaetter (PGY1)Tabea Hoffstaetter

Tabea Hoffstaetter earned her bachelor’s degree at Cornell University with a major in Biology and Society, and a minor in Anthropology and Dance. She worked with asylum seekers in Germany and then as a medical assistant at the Weill Cornell Vein Treatment Center. She then attended medical school at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where she established the school’s Vascular Surgery Interest Group and completed a research year focused on arteriovenous fistula maturation outcomes. Tabea loves dancing, crocheting, and going on adventures with her five siblings.
