Ph.D. Application Instructions
There is no application fee required for Ph.D. Programs. View application timeline.
All Ph.D. applicants must:
- Select an interdisciplinary program to which to apply. You must apply to an interdisciplinary program not a department.
- Submit a complete application by January 1 for fall doctoral admission. A complete application includes:
- Online application
- Personal and research statements
- 3 recommendations
- Official transcript(s)
- Official test scores
Applicants may submit only one Ph.D. application per recruitment year.
All International Students must also:

Complete a separate preliminary application. Submit by December 1 prior to the admission year.

Submit a complete application following approval of the preliminary application (see components of complete application above). The completed online application should be submitted to the single program or department program that authorized the preliminary application.

Provide all documents or letters submitted in support of your application in English or accompanied by an English translation.
