Benefits

Health

Postdoctoral appointees are eligible to participate in a University Health Plan. Provisions will be made for family health benefits through salary support sources, sponsored funding or by the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Other benefits may be available. Postdoctoral appointees should discuss their eligibility for such benefits.

The Medical Center has its own fitness facility, with memberships offered at a discount to students, residents and postdoctoral fellows.

Vacation

Postdoctoral fellows are given 2 weeks of paid vacation per year in addition to standard holidays in accordance with University and NIH policies.

Childcare

The University of Rochester Family Care Program furnishes referrals for childcare services to all UR employees.

Kindercare Learning Center, located across the street from the Medical Center, provides care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years.

Activities for Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to become involved in the University in a variety of ways.

Many fellows serve as volunteers in the Rochester community, teaching in public schools or working for some of Rochester's many charitable organizations.
