What Our Students Say About Us

student profile

"It feels like home" are words that floated through my mind as my interview day at Rochester came to a close. The same warmth and charm greeted me as I walked through the doors my first day of medical school and continues to greet me every day.

student profile

Rochester has cultivated a superb learning atmosphere that allows medical students to maximize their potential as future physicians. From the first day, members of the faculty engage the students as colleagues. The Double-Helix Curriculum encourages us to tackle medical topics from multiple angles simultaneously, facilitating learning. The curriculum is very flexible and has programs to meet individual needs.

Chris Greenman,
Princeton alumnuS

student profile

Of all the schools, Rochester was my first choice, because it combined stimulating research opportunities in a collaborative environment with first-rate clinical training. As an M.D./Ph.D. student, I carefully considered the environment and feel fortunate that I have access to cutting-edge researchers, acclaimed medical educators, and phenomenal clinicians.

Match Day - 2007

Match Day 2007Match day is always exciting. How did it feel this year? The students and the medical school were thrilled. Once again, our students matched at programs that mirror the breadth of their interests, from primary care to subspecialty areas they will be geographically spread around the country. We are fortunate as programs recognize the excellence of a University of Rochester medical school graduate and they are avidly recruited. Our alumni also help students by being available to assist students in the process. Our Advisory Dean system allows for individualized, focused career planning and development throughout the four years. We look forward to Match 2008! (see match list)

University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry "Blue Book"

The Student Published Blue Book was born a number of years ago out of a desire of current medical students to ease the transition for newcomers. This “Unofficial Guide to Rochester” includes a fairly significant amount of material. You’ll most likely notice that the information contained within is an eclectic yet interesting conglomeration of information and opinions gained during the first few years of life in medical school. The diversity of opinion and topics contained within serves as a reminder of the diversity of the environment you are about to enter, where age and experience becomes less of a hindrance to social interaction and each and every person brings a unique set of values, skills, experiences and opinions to the collective table.
