Matriculating Students
The School of Medicine and Dentistry welcomes you and looks forward to assisting you with the transition to medical school and getting acclimated to all that the school, university and community have to offer. Orientation week takes place in August and details on what you need to do to prepare for orientation can be found on our orientation page.
A variety of elective medical humanities pathways are offered to medical students during their education.
The current medical students prepare a document to help new students understand the area and many find the Student-to-Student Guide to be helpful. We have provided links to our Student Services page to facilitate your understanding of the school’s resources and handbook as well as a link to our University Health Services which outlines insurance and health programs. We look forward to your arrival and to a rewarding and exciting educational experience at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
