Student Affairs

student services

The Student Affairs Office oversees a variety of student-related needs including student academic support services, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Bursar.

One of the attractive features about the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is its strong commitment to support students. The school has put into place a number of support services to enhance an enrolled student's likelihood of success. Tutoring is available without charge. Counseling and workshops are available to assist students in reinforcing their skills in problem solving, organizing vast amounts of material, and time management. There are also instructional resources available to help students prepare for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step I. The Advisory Dean system at Rochester complements these services and pairs each student with one of four Advisory Deans who get to know each student. The Advisory Dean serves as that student's advisor for the entire undergraduate medical education experience. In addition to group meetings with the Advisory Dean that address professional development issues, students may meet individually for personal advising, curricular planning, or career counseling.
