Fellowship Programs

About Our Programs

The Flaum Eye Institute offers a growing number of post graduate fellowships for clinicians and scientists. Each is designed to provide participants with maximum exposure to vision research in their chosen disciplines. This occurs through interaction with a variety of clinician scientists and scientists involved in collaborative translational research. All fellows are encouraged to participate in academic pursuits resulting in publications and presentations at meetings such as ARVO. In addition, they may find themselves participating in clinical research involving state-of the-art tools such as our adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscopes or our ocular surface environmental chamber. This approach prepares fellows for careers in academic medicine, private clinical practice or industry.

Clinical fellows also receive intensive medical and surgical training. Top clinicians in each specialty represent different approaches to patient care and surgical techniques, providing guidance along the way. In addition, clinical fellows enjoy use of a full spectrum of diagnostic equipment receiving guidance from their preceptors and assistance from a top-flight staff of technicians and support personnel.
