Overview

Mary Eileen (Mel) Callan MS, RN, FNP, BC is a Family Nurse Practitioner and did her undergraduate work at Niagara University and graduate work at the University of Rochester School of Nursing.

She has worked in various health care settings, including acute care, hemodialysis, public health, home care, and community health center and is now at Lovejoy Family Medicine.  Mel has had a lifelong commitment to working with diverse populations in providing direct care and molding public policy as a nurse and political activist.

Mel ‘s political activities have included advocating for the underserved, running for office, and serving as Chief of Staff for a NY State Senator.  She also serves on various community boards addressing the quality, access, and cost of health care.
