Since her relocation to Rochester in March 2004, Dr. Carroll has been developing plans for a study to explore how primary care physicians communicate to poor and underserved patients about diet and exercise practices; pilot work is underway. She has written and taught extensively on the topic of refugee health, care of asylum-seekers and torture survivors.
