This is an opportunity to get motivated and in shape for warmer weather, plus it is a great team based program.

Register a team of 5-20 people, then exercise and receive points. Points are awarded based on your choice of activity and the duration, as well as for weight loss (if that is your goal). Monitor your progress relative to the other participants and compete for the top spots.

This year will include sessions on exercise and nutrition (for those interested) as well as fun team activities like dodge ball and obstacle courses and teams will receive prizes for best participation.

Cash prizes at the end reward the best performing individuals and teams! There are even regular prize drawings throughout the program. Recording activity automatically enters you into the drawing.
Non-members pay just $30 for an 8-week membership to the Center (although you can exercise anywhere), a t-shirt and a chance to win money and prizes. Members receive an $11 discount.

 

Motivation

Everyone joins the Fitness Challenge for different reasons. Regardless of your reason for participating, we try to make the Fitness Challenge a fun, motivating tool to help you become more active and healthier in the process.

Registered Participants

You may record your activity at the Fitness Challenge website. All participants that have regsitered, completed the non member application (link above) and attended an orientation will have access to the Fitness & Wellness Center.

Points are earned both for weight loss and exercise, based on length and intensity.

A Team Effort

All participants must register on teams of 5 to 20 people. University staff, students, alumni and retirees are encouraged to participate. By competing with and against your peers, you'll have the extra motivation you need to keep moving!

We also have prizes for team that participates the most, in activities like games, obstacle races and other fun things.

The Catch

Non-members must complete a New Member Orientation before they can start, but they will be allowed to use the Fitness & Wellness Center during the course of the Challenge. Each team must have at least 2 non-members.
