Finger Lakes Regional Perinatal Data System Advisory Group

    Statement of Purpose:

    1. Act as an expert/consultant body to project leaders and staff on policy matters related to establishing, maintaining, enhancing (e.g. other linkages), and reporting from the regional data base

    2. Advise decision makers in individual hospitals on data access issues

    3. Identify and address data integrity issues

    4. Select regional goals and priorities such that RPDS/EBC data can be used to facilitate these objectives and monitor progress

The Advisory Group acts as the key conduit for disseminating information from the regional data base. Although the Advisory Group does not have explicit authority to mandate regional priorities it is expected that a shared goal of improving perinatal care and outcomes in the Finger Lakes region should make participation and cooperation in achieving such goals desirable on all levels (community, hospital, and practitioner).

    Composition:
The Advisory Group is made up of at least one representative from each of the region’s hospitals providing obstetrical services and each County Health Department in the Finger Lakes region. Representation from agencies concerned with maternal and child health care in the region is also desired.

    Meeting Schedule:
The Advisory Group meets twice yearly, generally in November and May.
