Rochester River Run/Walk 5K
On Sunday, April 10, 2011 Friends of Strong and the Transplant Unit hosted itsTenth Annual Rochester River Run/Walk 5k at Genesee Valley Park. In addition to great refreshments provided by local businesses, prizes were awarded to both runners and walkers in various categories. Funds raised will be used to ease financial hardship for patients as it impacts their transplant experience. River Run/Walk 2009 raised over over $10,000 for transplant patients and their families.
20th Annual Gala Wine Tasting
On Friday, February 11, 2011, Friends of Strong hosted their 20th Annual Gala Wine Tasting at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. There were more than 300 red and white domestic and imported wines and champagnes to taste. In addition to wonderful wines, cheeses, breads, warm hors d'oeuvres, and desserts were offered.
Music was provided by the Matt Valerio Trio. There was also a silent auction and raffle of donated items.
