Research Overview
My laboratory is primarily interested in NFkB signal transduction and how this pathway regulates cellular response in innate and acquired immunity. By generating transgenic and knockout mice, we have developed animal models of rheumatoid arthritis, periprothetic aseptic loosening, and immunodeficiency. We are actively working to elucidate the molecular etiology in these mice, and design rational drug and gene therapy strategies to cure the disease in these animals. Successful approaches will be directly translated to determine efficacy in patients that suffer from these conditions.
