The 12th annual Discovery Ball was an amazing success!
More than 700 donors, friends and staff members joined Sue and Bob Kessler, Discovery Ball Chairs, gathered Saturday May 21 to celebrate the 12th annual Discovery Ball to raise funds for the Wilmot Cancer Center. The event, which was held at the Robert B. Wegman Conference Facility, raised more than $651,000 to fund cancer care and research programs provided at the Wilmot Cancer Center.
Guests enjoyed a fabulous grazing dinner followed by dancing to the sounds of international recording artists, Tower of Power. "Once again our community affirmed its support of our mission to provide world class care and advance life-saving research to help cancer patients in the greater Rochester region and beyond,” said Richard I. Fisher, Director of the Wilmot Cancer Center. “The evening provides an opportunity for great fun and camaraderie, but also demonstrates the wonderful generosity and thoughtfulness of our many friends in this community.”
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Inspiration Award to Richard T. "Dick" Bell, a throat cancer survivor who has reached out to others dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Click here to see Dick's inspiring story.
