My main interests are in the molecular control of cell fate and homeostasis of resident progenitor cells in the adult human brain. Using genomics approaches we have begun to identify an array of signalling pathways which may operate in the regulation of glial progenitors. The functional significance of these pathways will be tested using pharmacolgical and lentiviral based overexpression and shRNAi in vitro and ultimately with in vivo models of CNS demyelination/remyelination.
