Healthy volunteers are needed for many clinical trials. There are two ways to be considered a healthy volunteer:

  1. You have no known medical conditions.
  2. You have a medical condition but it's unrelated to the clinical trial in question. For example, let's say you have the medical condition psoriasis but are interested in being part of a study on diabetes. If you don't have diabetes you may be considered a healthy volunteer.
