The Highland Foundation

2013 Breast Cancer Education Event

An Evening of Pampering, Inspiration and Fun

The 20th annual Highland Breast Cancer Education Event on October 17, 2013 raised $63,000 to support Highland Breast Imaging’s free mammography screening program and outreach efforts that help hundreds of women each year. More than 430 people came to hear keynote speaker Jennie Nash, an author and breast cancer survivor who moved the audience to tears (and laughter) as she told her story.

The event theme was “Pampered In Pink” and it more than lived up to its billing – guests enjoyed a comfort food menu with hearty hors d’ouevres, capped by a cold-milk-and-warm-cookies dessert bar. Chair massages, Reiki treatments and a serene spa décor made for a memorable, relaxing and entertaining experience. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success, especially 13WHAM anchor Ginny Ryan, our fabulous host for the evening. Many community leaders, businesses, and organizations partner with us every year to educate, support and inspire women. The Highland Foundation thanks these generous sponsors for their support of the 2013 event.

We’re already at work making next year’s Breast Cancer Education Event a can’t-miss evening. Save the date --  Thursday, October 9, 2014!
