Highland Hospital is asking members of the Greater Rochester community and beyond to cast their votes for the hospital’s Pink Glove Dance video which honors breast cancer patients and survivors. Hundreds of employees, patients and survivors - wearing pink surgical gloves and showing off their dance moves - participated in the making of the video this summer to promote breast cancer awareness. To vote, click here; then click on the "like" tab. (Voters must have or create a Facebook account.) Voting ends Friday, Oct. 21, and the winner will be announced Friday, Oct. 28.
More than 120 organizations from the United States and Canada have submitted video entries to the Pink Glove Dance competition, sponsored by Medline Industries - a medical supplies company that produces surgical gloves. The organization with the most votes will win $10,000 to donate to the breast cancer charity of its choice.
The Pink Glove Dance originated with a video created in November 2009 by employees at Oregon’s Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Medline. The video generated national media attention and has had more than 13 million hits on the Internet.
