Highland Welcomes Raymond Scurek, M.D. to ED

Dr. Raymond Scurek
Highland Hospital has welcomed a new physician into the Department of Emergency Medicine. Raymond Scurek, M.D., has joined the team in the Wolk Emergency Department.
Before coming to Highland, Dr. Scurek was a flight physician at Spectrum Health Aeromed in Kentwood, Mich., and an honorary Michigan State University Clinical Instructor. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine in 2008 and completed his residency in emergency medicine in June 2011 at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners.
He holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. in applied physiology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago.
During his medical training, Dr. Scurek volunteered at numerous community health clinics that serve children and underserved populations in Chicago and Austin, as well as the Emergency and Radiology Departments at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.
