Highland Welcomes Ryan C. Nelson, M.D., to Cardiology Department

Dr. Ryan Nelson
Ryan C. Nelson, M.D., joined the Highland Hospital Department of Cardiology as an attending physician July 1. Dr. Nelson’s responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient visits and consultations as well as diagnostic and imaging tests. In addition, Dr. Nelson will be attending in the Coronary Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital for eight weeks each year.
Dr. Nelson received all his medical training and education in upstate New York institutions not far from his hometown of Webster. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. During his residency, he was awarded the Lawrence E. Young Prize for dedication to patient care and teaching. Most recently, Dr. Nelson served as Chief Cardiology Fellow during his URMC fellowship.
