Ahmed Ghazi, M.D., Joins Urology Department

Ahmed Ghazi, M.D.

Ahmed Ghazi, M.D., has joined the University of Rochester Medical Center as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology. He specializes in robot-assisted and minimally invasive urologic surgery. Dr. Ghazi will see patients at several locations, including Highland Hospital, and he will be teaching urology residents and medical students basic robotic surgery skills through the use of a virtual simulator.

Most recently, Dr. Ghazi was a member of the faculty at Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency in urology at the same university.

Dr. Ghazi trained with pioneers and leaders in the field of minimally invasive surgical treatment of prostate and kidney cancer. He completed his training at URMC as a fellow in robotic surgery and endourology, which involves treating urinary problems through minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Ghazi is a member of the American Urology Association, European Association of Urology and International Endourology Society. He actively participates in international conferences and seeks out new technology for treatment of his patients.
