ICAEL Accreditation – A Seal of Approval Patients Can Trust

Highland Cardiology SonographersHighland Cardiology's procedure (testing) lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). By voluntarily submitting to a review of our daily operations, we demonstrate a commitment to performance quality and meet nationally recognized standards.

What Factors Influence an Accurate Diagnosis?

Highland Cardiologists use state-of-the-art technology to identify heart disease and offer treatments and strategies to maximize heart health. The specific test or tests required to diagnose or rule out heart disease depends on which heart condition your doctor thinks you might have. For specialized cardiac testing, it is important to go to an ICAEL accredited lab. There are many aspects that contribute to an accurate diagnosis. These factors include:

  • The skill of the sonographer performing the examination
  • The type of equipment used
  • The experience, training and knowledge of the interpreting physician
  • The quality assurance measures

More About ICAEL Accreditation

We provide samples of our echocardiograms to IAC and they are reviewed by experts throughout the United States and Canada. Accreditation is granted only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care.

We submit documentation on every aspect of our daily operations. During this process, we are required to identify and correct potential problems, revise protocols, and validate quality assurance programs. IAC accreditation is valid for three years, after which time we undergo a repeat evaluation.
