Email Client Configuration - Eudora

  1. Open Eudora. From the menu bar, select "Tools." When the drop-down menu appears, select "Options..."
    1. "Getting Started" "real name" - your name
    2. "email address" - your URMC email address
    3. "mail server (incoming)" - mail.urmc.rochester.edu
    4. "username" - your username (ex. John_Doe)
    5. "smtp server (outgoing)" - the name of the outgoing mail server of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) (ex. smtp-server.rochester.rr.com

  1. Click the “Checking Mail” icon.  The only change you need to make to this tab is under “Secure Sockets when Receiving.”  Click the drop-down arrow and select “Required, Alternate Port.”

  1. Click the “Incoming Mail” icon.  If you wish to leave a copy of your mail on the server so you can access it later using Outlook Web Access (OWA) click the check box next to “Leave mail on server.”

  1. Click “OK.”  Your Eudora email client should now be configured for your URMC email account.  If you have any questions or concerns, contact the Miner Library Computing Center Help Desk at 275-6865.
