CLIC-on-Health Project

One of our outreach efforts involves working on the CLIC- (Community and Library Information Collaboration) -on-Health project with other libraries and health organizations in the Rochester area. The project’s purpose is to provide all people of the greater Rochester area with high-quality healthcare information and resources to enable wise lifestyle and healthcare choices.

The project features:

  • The CLIC-on-Health Web site, providing information about more than 400 local health organizations, services, and support groups for specific health problems. The site also links to high quality consumer health Web sites, such as MedlinePlus.gov. Using CLIC-on-Health’s search box results in both local and national-level information.

  • Training in the use of health information on the Internet to the public and the people who work with them. We have trained school nurses, health educators, and senior center staff, for example. The training materials are available on the Web site.

If you have community contacts who could benefit from using the site or receiving training, contact Christine DeGolyer. She’ll be happy to meet with you or supply you with CLIC-on-Health pens, bookmarks, or pamphlets to give away or to display in a public office.
