Alumni are welcome to use Bibby library during normal hours of operation.
Due to licensing agreements with publishers, offsite access to subscribed electronic resources is prohibited.
Rather than pay large fees to purchase articles from publishers, we offer some alternatives below.

Suggestions for Obtaining Full Text Articles from Professional Dental Journals

The American Dental Association Library charges nonmember health professionals $12 per article.
ADA members may purchase articles for $7.
Memberships in dental organizations. Many professional organizations offer membership perks such as free journal subscriptions, library access, and more. See the list of organizations below.
Your local public library. Most public library systems offer access to their online resources with library membership. Often, if the library does not subscribe to certain resources, they can order the article for a small fee. These fees are much less than the cost of purchasing the article from the publisher. Find your local public library by choosing your state from this list of state library systems.
Open-source journals. Search the following sites for dental journals that provide free access to their articles.

Directory of Open Access Journals
PubMed Central
If you are searching PubMed, select the limit "Links to free full text" . Then, your search results will display only those citations from journals that are available for free.

Recommended Resources for Searching the Dental Literature

Search PubMed for articles: PubMed contains the MEDLINE database and is freely available to the public. PubMed does not contain full text articles; it contains citations and abstracts from dental, medical and veterinary journals
Find systematic reviews at the American Dental Association's Evidence Based Dentistry web site. The ADA has pulled together abstracts from systematic reviews published in dentistry. Some include critical summaries authored by dental professionals.

The JDE is online through HighWire Press. HighWire hosts more than 1,000 other journals and provides Inter-Journal Toll-Free Citation Linking. For example, you may find an article in the JDE and want to pursue the references. If the cited articles are from journals hosted on HighWire, you can read the full text even if you are not a subscriber, provided you follow citation links from the JDE.
