In order to establish a wireless Ethernet connection, you'll need to:
Please read/follow the documentation & installation introductions for the wireless hardware you have obtained. The general information you will need to configure your wireless connection is:
SSID: urmcwireless
Encryption (WEP): (none)
Once the card and the driver are installed, see below:
Note: These instructions assume that you are using the Windows XP menu structure, not the Classic menu structure. To edit your menu structure, right-click on the Start button, select Properties, make sure that the Start menu radio button is selected, then click OK.)
Select Start > Connect to > then right-click on Wireless Network Connection. Select View Available Wireless Networks from the menu. The Wireless Network Connections dialog box is displayed (the SSID "urmcwireless" should be displayed):
Since WEP is not currently used, you must check the "Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network. even though it is not secure" box. (See Below)
Click on "Connect". You should now be connected.
