 Methacholine Challenge Test

A Methacholine Challenge Test is generally ordered by your physician to determine if you have an airways disease such as asthma. The test takes about one hour to complete. Be sure to bring a list of your current medications with you to your appointment.

The following medications may interfere with your test results. Therefore it is important that you stop taking them 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Proventil, Albuterol, Ventolin
Atrovent (Ipratropium)
Combivent
Spiriva
Theo 24, Theo-Dur, Uniphyl
Symbicort
Zyflo
Singulair
Advair
Serevent
Fordil (Formoterol)
Maxair
