Our program is of two year’s duration and is designed to train microbiologists who can combine expertise in clinical microbiology with research in clinical and medical microbiology. Accordingly, trainees with a Ph.D. degree in microbiology (or a related field) or and M.D. degree receive training in clinical microbiology and the opportunity for research experience. It is anticipated that the program will prepare trainees for careers in clinical laboratories; science faculty positions in departments of Microbiology, pathology, or Laboratory Medicine; and research in clinical and medical microbiology.
One requirement that we have is an all day visit to our facility; this includes a seminar presentation by the candidate and interviews with faculty members.
