Fall Semester 2012
MBI 431 - Microbial Physiology
Monday & Wednesday's
2:00-3:15 PM
MBI Conference Room, Del Monte 2-11211
Course Description: MBI 431 is an advanced course on microbial physiology. This course provides a survey of microbial physiology with emphasis on metabolism, regulation, cell walls, membranes, ecology, and adaptation to extreme environments. The class meets twice per week for two lectures of 75 minutes each. Extensive handout materials are provided, and readings are from the current literature. Basic biochemistry is a prerequisite for this course. There is no required textbook. There will be two midterm exams and a final exam. All exams are open book. It is imperative that you take excellent notes and keep them organized. The exams are not cumulative.
