Contributing to the HIV vaccine development as it shifts towards understanding the B cell biology as a means of elucidating the viruses' effect on the adaptive immune system and ways in which these mechanisms can be manipulated for rational vaccine design.

My research is primarily focused on defining the adaptive responses of Streptococcus mutans to oxidative and acid stresses especially relating to NADH oxidase and its role in sugar and oxygen metabolism.
