Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center
The Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center, located at Strong Memorial
Hospital, is dedicated to the care of patients and
their families, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular
disease. Our specialists include neurologists, a neurosurgeon
who specializes in cerebrovascular surgery, and the region’s
only interventional radiologists.

Research goals of the Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center include
1) expanding our understanding of the mechanisms of ischemic injury
to the brain; 2) improving
acute ischemic stroke treatment; 3) developing more effective
strategies in secondary stroke prevention; and 4) identifying
cost-effective diagnostic testing and treatment.
