AIDS - Cytomegalovirus (CMV) encephalitis: The ventricular surface (upper left) is undergoing necrosis and contains several large cells with nuclei containing the inclusion bodies (with surrounding pale halos) typical of CMV. CMV encephalitis can present as multifocal lesions radiographically in patients with AIDS and CNS complications. |
