AIDS - Cryptococcal cysts: Chronic cryptococcal meningitis may be accompanied by the development of many small cysts within underlying cortex and within deep nuclei. In this specimen cysts are particularly numerous in the head of the caudate nucleus adjacent to the lateral ventricle on the far right.
