AIDS - Primary CNS lymphoma: Another complication of AIDS is the occurrence of primary CNS lymphoma (also referred to as microglioma/reticulum cell sarcoma in the older literature). These tumors are generally composed of medium to large malignant lymphoid cells, usually exhibiting predominantly B-cell markers. These tumors, formerly rare, represent a significant consideration in the differential diagnosis of mass lesions in the CNS in patients with AIDS.
