MRI - Cerebral contusion: This 62-year-old woman with a history of Huntington's disease was found comatose in her home following a fall. On arrival to the emergency department she was witnessed to have a generalized convulsion. Examination revealed intact brain stem reflexes and decreased movement of the right side of her body. This T1-weighted coronal image shows a heterogeneous-appearing lesion in the left temporal lobe with mass effect, consistent with a cerebral contusion. The caudate nucleus also appears atrophic. |
