MRI - Meningomyelocele: This 4-month-old boy was evaluated for flaccid paraparesis and decreased sphincter tone. This T2-weighted MRI reveals spina bifida and extension of the dural sac to the skin surface. The spinal cord extends past its usual termination at L1-2 and reaches the tip of the dural sac, forming a caudal neural placode. No lipomata are seen. |
