MRI - Band heterotopias: This 27-year-old woman had long-standing seizures that were difficulty to control and slight mental retardation. Examination was significant for cognitive difficulties and right > left hyperreflexia. This T1-weighted axial MR image shows bilateral bands of abnormal signal within the subcortical white matter that parallel the cortical signal intensity.
