Ultrasound - Germinal matrix hemorrhage: This three-day-old child was born at 30 weeks estimated gestational age. His examination was normal for age. This axial ultrasound image shows dilation of the lateral ventricles, and echogenic material within the ventricles, consistent with hemorrhage.
