Parkinson's Disease; Lewy body: Another frequent finding in Parkinson's disease is the presence of cytoplasmic inclusions in neurons. In the upper center of this slide is a large pigmented neuron with an eosinophilic cytoplasmic inclusion surrounded by a halo. This inclusion is known as a Lewy body. Reactive astrocytes are inconspicuous but several pigment-containing microglia are present.
