Clinical Trials
A Phase II Clinical Trial Evaluating DCVax-Brain, Autologous Dendritic Cells Pulsed with Tumor Lysate Antigen for the Treatment of Glioblastoma Multiforme
- Brief Overview:
Patients with a new diagnosis of brain tumor will undergo surgical removal. If the pathology reveals glioblastoma multiforme, the patient will be eligible to continue. After surgery, patients will undergo a procedure to harvest white blood cells from their bodies. These cells will be combined with tissue for the tumor surgery to create a vaccine. Patients will randomly be placed into two groups: Group A will receive standard therapy with radiation and chemotherapy as well as vaccine injections. Group B will recieve standard therapy with radiation and chemotherapy as well as placebo injections. Group B will have the opportunity to recieve the vaccine at a later date.
